Spotify on social
Role ︎︎︎ Brand guardian, art direction, motion design, illustartion, 3D design
I worked on the Spotify account as both a brand guardian and hands-on designer. As part of the brand guardian team, I was responsible for QC’ing all assets across EU and UK markets, ensuring brand consistency and maintaining high standards of craft.
As a hands-on designer, I contributed to campaigns and Always On work, creating pieces that blended 2D, 3D, illustration, and typography. Spotify remains one of my favorite accounts to work on, their visual style, brand recognition, and the creative freedom it offers make it a true highlight of my career.
Spotlight on South Africa
Spotify South Africa wanted to spotlight emerging artists across various music genres. I created a series of social assets with a cohesive overarching look and feel. Using Spotify’s brand shapes as a foundation, I elevated them by transforming them into rotating 3D forms with metallic textures. Each asset featured a unique color combination from the brand palette, adding variety while maintaining consistency and enabling speed and scale.Record label stories
Spotify has an ongoing social media franchise called ‘record label stories’, where a story told by the creator is paired with bespoke design and timed typography. This franchise is always exciting to work with as it allows to push the boat out in terms of adherence to brand guidelines.
Wear iOS
Spotify wanted an awareness video to showcase how the platform works on smartwatches. We developed a series of everyday scenarios, keeping the watch as the central focus. I wanted to mix 3D and 2D elements to highlight the watch and the arm while creating a style that’s both on-trend and highly engaging. The mix of 2D and 3D brought energy and fun to the video, creating asuper engaging video.
Audiobooks on Spotify
Spotify wanted to promote their new audiobooks feature through a CRM and email campaign. The creative idea was to collaborate with a team of illustrators, each contributing a unique piece of art in their own style to represent different book genres. I was selected to create an illustration for the self-help category, centered around the theme of "reflection."
